Metric Variables Tab

Metric variables are imported when you import a metrics file.

Metrics Common Fields

For a description of the fields and menus above the tabs, see Metrics Common Fields.

Overwrite a Metric Variable Value

The variables listed here apply to all projects in Touchstone; however, there may be instances when you want to use a different variable value for some of your projects. In this case, you can add the variable to the Override Metric Variable Values grid on the Programs > Configuration tab and edit the value as needed. The adjusted variable values apply to all projects associated with the selected program. When you import a new metric file, the values in this grid are overwritten; however, the values in the Override Metric Variable Values grid are not overwritten.

Edit the Default Metric Variable

When you edit the default metric variable name, the change applies to all projects in Touchstone.

When you edit the default metric variable value, the change applies to all projects in Touchstone except those where the metric variable value has been overwritten at the program level.

Add a Metric Variable

You cannot manually add metric variables. The only way to add variables is when you import them with a metric file.

Delete a Metric Variable

You cannot delete a metric variable. The only way to remove it from Touchstone is to remove it from the Acumen metrics file and import a new file.

Import a New Metric File

When you import a new metric file, the variables and values in the Variables grid with the same name as those being imported are overwritten. Metric variables that don't already exist are added.

Variables Grid

The grid header includes the following icons:
  • : Click Filter in the grid header to filter the grid results. The grid updates to display the records that fit the criteria that you enter. A filter icon displays to the left of the column name to indicate that you are filtering by a value in that column. To hide the filter fields, click Filter again. To remove the filter criteria, delete the text from the filter field. The filter remains in effect as long as you are in that view. However, if you leave the view and then return, the filter is no longer in effect.
  • : ClickExport to download all data in the grid to a .csv file.
